Since I was a child, arts & crafts have been a part of my life. My sister introduced me to arts & crafts and hence, she is my first art teacher. I remember her teaching me to draw the beginner-classic drawing of 'hill, house, flower pot, and girl in a pretty dress'. I was fascinated by the way she twisted and turned a couple of lines into a beautiful masterpiece by finally adding some dash of colors. The child in me rejoiced and ever since then, converting my imagination & expressions into art never stopped. During my school days, I used to participate in art competitions and won numerous prizes. If anyone is looking for me in the house, my mom would say 'she must be somewhere in the house, drawing or painting'.

Growing up, I have been interested in the field of art, creative design, and video production. After school, in order to learn more about the field of audiovisual communication, I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Mass communication from Amrita Vishwa Vidya Peetham, Coimbatore, and to further understand the scope of visual communication, I did PG Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the Indian Institute of Journalism & New Media, Bangalore, where I directed, produced & edited news features and reports for IIJNM’s Online News Bulletin. My specialization in ‘Television Documentary’ also allowed me to interact with people from various walks of life and bring their stories to life on-screen.

Later, I had a short stint as a content editor at The New Indian Express, Chennai, and as a social media manager & online content editor at FWD Magazine, Kochi.
Childhood, Education, and Early Days of Work

To rekindle my love for arts and crafts, I took up pencil sketching classes, when I moved to Bangalore and later became a freelance artist and teacher. I used to take workshops and art classes on the ‘basics of pencil sketching'.

My editing skills were limited to news story edits, so to learn more about video editing, I interned with NJM Productions in Bangalore and assisted the creative director by providing content cuts and multi-cam edits for docu-wedding videos.

QC to Creative Project Manager

I learned more about the do’s and don’ts of video editing from my colleagues at NJM Productions, and this gave me the confidence to apply for guch’s ‘Quality Controller’ post as I had an eye for details. But to fit into the role perfectly, I read up on Netflix’s QC guidelines and came up with a guideline for the in-house video quality checks at guch. In the meantime, I had a stint as Assistant Art Director and worked on a couple of creative projects like CRED, NapEazy, etc.

My impeccable attention to detail, time management, accountability, and assertiveness, opened the path of project management for me at guch.
